Dr. Wendy Schroeder
Dr. Wendy Schroeder is a Chicago native, graduating from University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She grew up in Barrington, IL, and graduated from Barrington High School. Following high school she attended Hope College in Holland, MI, obtaining a B.S. in Biology in 1993. After graduation, she worked at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN as a research assistant on gene therapy techniques and methods to combat pediatric lymphoma. She received her degree from University of Illinois Veterinary School. Dr. Schroeder started at East Maryland in 2001, and her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, canine and feline internal medicine and wellness. She and her husband and son live in the Arcadia area with their Boston Terrier, English Setter and 2 cats. In her free time, Wendy enjoys gourmet cooking, reading, traveling and hiking.
Dr. Paul Fick
Dr. Paul Fick is originally from the Ohio River Valley area. He grew up in Indiana, graduating from Purdue University with a B.S. in Biology. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee Veterinary School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1990. He moved to Phoenix to begin his career as a Veterinarian, and has been practicing in the Valley ever since.
Dr. Melana Martens
Dr. Melana Martens was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked as a veterinary technician for five years, then attended undergraduate school at Oklahoma State University for three years. She was accepted a year early to Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained her doctorate degree. She joined East Maryland Animal Hospital when she moved to Phoenix in June, 2005. Melana's professional interests include canine and feline internal medicine, dermatology, and juvenile and geriatric wellness programs. She has two Papillions,"Brady" and "Brooklyn," whom you may see in the lobby greeting visitors from time to time!
Dr. Brooke Hoppe
Dr. Brooke Hoppe obtained her degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is a native of Colorado, having lived in Littleton and Boulder, where she attended the University of Colorado and obtained her Bachelor's degree. Brooke's interests include feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. In her free time, Brooke enjoys hiking, snowboarding, tennis and traveling.
